When taking two directories and tying them together to support one another, it rarely is thought of as a benefit.
Generally more work is required, more time, and people have to learn new things. However, the benefit is taking the
strengths of the two, and combining them to better support one another.
When looking at the time that it will take to do a project like this, it isn’t out of the question to say it will be 2-3
months. But in that time, you will understand what you are doing, and be able to move between the two systems
with ease, taking advantage of each.
For those of you that are familiar with ZENworks, this is a great way to provide imaging, remote control and support,
Extensible policies, application push outs, Inventory and Workstation Management, all while still using eDirectory.
There is no product from Novell that will do all this, but using tools already out there, it is possible to get an
environment exact in function, and similar in nature.
I hope that this was helpful and answered some questions that might have been in your head. I hope you have
learned more from this, just as I have writing this. If you should have any questions, comments or suggestions,
