• To choose when the screen saver starts, drag the Start screen saver slider.

• To hide your desktop quickly, you can start a screen saver immediately by

using Hot Corners. Click the Hot Corners button to setup. For instance, if

you want to start the screen saver when you move the mouse to the lower

right corner setup your hot corners like this:

Security locks

It is important to set it up so that you

need to type your password to

awaken your computer after the

screen saver has turned on.

• Go to System Preferences.

• Select Security from the

Personal Section.

• Check the Require password

to wake this computer from

sleep or screen saver.

Lock your computer!

Whenever you walk away from your computer, even if just for a moment, it is

very important that you password protect your data! If you have setup your

screen saver to require a password and you have setup a hot corner to enable

the screen saver, then before you walk away, simply move your mouse to the hot

corner.

Another way to lock your screen is from the Keychain

icon in the Menu Bar at the top right of the screen.

Choosing Lock Screen will bring up the screen saver

just like using a hot corner.
