Toolbar
The toolbar has all the same items, but they look
a bit different than in AppleWorks 5.
Note that the polygon tool is set for triangles,
but can be changed to draw all regular polygons.
If you want to change the number of sides, go to
the Edit Menu > Polygon sides.
The paint tools are available for use only when
you are in paint mode. If they are grayed out,
then they are not available.
• To use the paint tools, click on the
Painting button.
• Your cursor will turn into a paintbrush.
• Drag the paintbrush to draw a canvas on
which to paint. You can paint only in the
canvas area.
• The paint tools will then be available.
• Unlike our old Macs, the iMacs have enough
memory to use the paint tools.
To fill an object with color:
• First click on the Fill Formatting button.
• Click once on the Color Palette button and
the palette will appear.
• You do not need to continue to hold down
the mouse. Click on a color to select it.
• To go back to no fill or color, click on the
Fill Formatting button and select white
from the Color Palette.
To change color/size of lines or arrows:
• Click first on the Pen formatting button.
• Click once on the color palette button to select a pen color.
• Click once on the Line Weight button to make thicker lines.
• Click once on the Arrow Style button to make arrows using the line tool.
• To go back to a black pen color, click on the Pen Formatting button and select black.
