Using the Keyboard Menu
After you install the Chinese
L
anguage Kit and restart your co
m
puter, the Ke yboard
m
enu
icon appears at the right end of the
m
enu bar.
You use the Keyboard
m
enu to select the keyboard layout o r inpu t
m
ethod you w ant to use.
The Ke yboard
m
enu has a section for each script installe d on your co
m
puter. The s ectio n for
the pri
m
ary script of your syste
m
software appears at the top of t he
m
enu. If the pri
m
ary
script of your syste
m
software is the
R
o
m
an script, then th e first section of the
m
enu lists the
keyboard layouts available for
R
o
m
an-based langu age s. After you install the Chinese
L
anguage Kit, a s ectio n appears at the botto
m
of the
m
enu for each script you installed.
If the pri
m
ary script of your syste
m
software is eit her the Traditional Chinese or
S
i
m
plified
Chinese script, then the section for that script appears at the top of the Ke yboard
m
enu. The
section for the other script appears at the botto
m
of the
m
enu.
To select a keyboard layout or an input
m
ethod, do one of the following:

e section of the

enu, if you
select the option in the K eyboard control panel.

in the next section of the Keyboard

hen you choose a keyboard layout or input

ethod, the icon for the Keyboard
m
enu
changes to show the current selection.
Displaying Finder Names in Chinese
After you install the Chinese
L
anguage Kit, you can display file and folder na
m
es in the F inder
with Chinese characters. To do this, you
m
ust change the font use d in the Finder.

do this depends on the version of the syste
m
software you are using.
If you are using system software prior to version 8.0:
1 Choose Control Panels fro

2 Choose the fon t you want to use fro
